Kind of the like the What gear did you buy today? thread, I wanted to start one to keep track of what people are doing each day to get prepared for the upcoming season. It could be anything from looking over maps to habitat improvement. With that said... What did you do today to prepare or improve your chances of success?
To start it off.. Even though PA is dealing with a monsoon right now, I threw on some rain gear and hung a stand for practicing out of.
Went over my bow with a fine tooth comb to find a vibration I have been having. Isolated it to my pendulum sight so I pulled it all apart and greased all the moving parts!! Wallah vibration is now gone!!
I sat around the house wishing the dam rain would quite! would like to shoot the bow and check the trail camera today! we are having to much rain!
Yesterday Jmbuckhunter, my husband and I went scouting up in the mountains by the house. Being able to ride from your doorstep to the mountains is awesome... 'Cept when your atv croaks 14 miles up the trail. Lol. Thankfully, the guys got it going again. So far today, I've been to the Honda dealer to #1) order a functional petcock #2) pick my jaw up off the floor when they told me a new gas tank is almost $500.00 #3) look over a Honda pioneer 500 and seriously consider buying it.
Yep. He and his wife moved here just this month. They came to visit a few times and decided this is where they want to live.
Ran the pup on a fake scent trail and shot about 50 arrows. Yesterday me and the pup hiked 4.5 miles in the kishwauketoe nature preserve getting ready for elk season trying out the new pack.
Fletched a dozen new arrows while watching the rain pour down all day. I will get out tomorrow to check the cam and freshen up the mineral site.
Does it count if it was for target archery? Shot a bunch at 50 meters in a downpour for a shoot tomorrow. And then tuned my hunting bow Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Same thing as everyone else just sent a few arrows down range while waiting for it to dry out to start on some more plots.
Had a break in the rain so I set up another stand and checked a few cams. Was about to shoot but then started to rain again.
Nutt'in - Was discharged from Walter Reed on Wednesday evening, after having major abdominal surgery Monday morning. Doing fine, just moving slow and easy. Doctor say's I'll be good as new in 4 or 5 weeks...in the meantime, no archery........sigh. Guess I'll spend some of that "slow and easy" time and go shopping. Bill
I shot out to 70 yards last night, a little out of position practice last night. Today we traveled down to see some family. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk
Have you had this warm weather wreckless? After I got back from town, the hubby and I put up a pool (most of the way). Good weather for being lazy in a pool.
