So My Top Three Choices are 1. Bowtech Boss http://www.bowtecharchery.com/#/productBreakdown?r=products_products&i=65 I like this Bow because the specs It has a long ATA at 36", and a High brace hight @ 7". and even though it only has a #70 draw. its still shooting 15 fps faster than my current bow. i dont like this bow because i havent seen any reviews on or heard much about it. 2. Mathews Monster Wake. http://mathewsinc.com/product/monster-wake/ I like this bow because of the long ATA, and the #80 draw. I dont know about the 5" brace hight. but this bow is screaming fast. Im just still not sure if i want to dump that kind of money on a bow with such a small brace hight. Iv heard they are far less forgiving. and im looking for a forgiving bow at long range. 3. Hoyt Carbon Spyder ZT34 http://hoyt.com/compounds/carbon-spyder-zt I like this bow Because it has a longer ata, and because from what i hear alot. hoyt is a very reliable company. It has a #80 draw. and shoots as fast as the bowtech. It has the same brace hight as my current bow. So i feel like with this bow. 3" more ata is really all im getting. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ These are my choices so far 1 being far 3 being lesser so. what would you guys pick and why. or if you have any bows to input go ahead. Im looking for basically a great bow for shooting long distance.
Without having shot any of them I would put them in this order: 1, 3, then 2. My reason being that I like how recent year bowtechs have shot. I really wouldn't put the Hoyt over Mathews but I couldn't ever bring myself to paying that much for a bare bow. I don't really like the way Hoyt's feel in my hand tho. My list right now would be: 1. Elite Synergy 2. Elite energy 32 3. Bowtech Boss Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
My list would be mathews no cam white Camo, mathews no cam lost Camo, mathews no cam smoke grey I don't even want to shoot another bow that one felt that good in me hand Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The white camo is lost OT and the smoke grey is stone tactical. My top 3 would be Prime rival with PCX cams Hoyt nitrum turbo Hoyt carbon spyder zt turbo Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Compared to your current bow the Carbon spyder is leaps and bounds ahead. 3 inches AtA is not all you're getting. You're getting a great, tuneable cam system with smooth draw, nice lightweight strong riser, the zero torque cable guard, and many more features. Trust me there is no comparison between your current bow and the carbon spyder lineup in my eyes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
One of my friends has the Boss... The new cams draw so smooth. To me smoother than the Overdrive cams on my BowTechs. Super quite too. I haven't shot his bow, only drew it a couple times. He was always a Hoyt guy and bought the Carbon Spyder 34 this year. He shot the Boss, bought it on the spot and sold his Carbon 34.
I would replace the Wake with the Chill X. That bow has amazing specs and one of the best all around bows I have ever shot.
I like the wake. If you shoot with the 75% let off mods you can get some extra speed. If I remember right the ibo was tested at 85% let off.
I would replace the Wake with a Nitrum turbo. Its the same speed but lighter, smoother, and a lot less expensive.
Don't know if I could handle a 36" ata bow... it would be like shooting a recurve back in the 80s. I don't care for hoyt's because of the handle and how they feel when I hold one. So if it were me I'd go with the Mathews Monster..
I shot Recurve for 5 years. this is my first year with a compound. and my recurve is 60" so 36" is still very short to me. I dont plan on ever stepping foot in a blind or tree stand, and i hunt in pine woods so i dont need to worry about my bow getting hung up.
My personal favorite right now is the Prime Rival, but here's my input. Forget about the Bowtech and the Mathews. The Hoyt Nitrum turbo that was mentioned earlier in this thread is louder than the spyder and seems to vibrate more in the hand. Even though this is the exact thing the "new design" is supposed to eliminate. I have shot the Hoyt Spyder on several occasions and find it to be a magnificent bow. Like I said, I'm non-biased as I don't own a Hoyt right now. This bow will drop deer for many years to come! If those are your options, I'd go with number 3!
Well... I didnt think i was going to get a new bow for some time. and i even started looking at the hoyt pro comp elite as a new hunting bow. but my dad told me he wants to buy me a new bow for my bday!!! so im going with the bowtech boss. i cant ask him for a $2000 bow.
i would go with the hoyt or bowtech. i agree with you that the matthews will be less forgiving for hunting out west taking furthur shots
