I bought a recurve yesterday, and I was wondering what all goes into tuning these things. I shot it for an hour or so and the arrows don't appear to fly straight. I understand archers paradox and that isn't what i'm referring to. When the arrows hit the target the are not going in straight and are slanted up at about a 45 degree angle. I am thinking I will move the rest versus the nocking point if I can? Oh, it is a martin jaguar takedown if that makes a difference. I am using this bow for bowfishing and I would like the arrow to go in as straight as possible.
Are you shooting off s shelf or elevated rest? You most likely have to move the nocking point up. Read this closely it has almost all the information that you'll need. http://www.acsbows.com Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It has an adjustable bow fishing rest, so an elevated rest. I can move the nocking point up. How far would you suggest moving it up to start with? Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
Are you using this bow set-up for bowfishing or general shooting/hunting? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Try moving the nock up 1/6-1/8" at a time. Keep in mind a solid fiberglass arrow will not shoot as good as regular arrows. You can get it to shoot well though. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
