I bought a recurve yesterday, and I was wondering what all goes into tuning these things. I shot it for an hour or so and the arrows don't appear to fly straight. I understand archers paradox and that isn't what i'm referring to. When the arrows hit the target the are not going in straight and are slanted up at about a 45 degree angle. I am thinking I will move the rest versus the nocking point if I can? Oh, it is a martin jaguar takedown if that makes a difference. I am using this bow for bowfishing and I would like the arrow to go in as straight as possible.

Are you shooting off s shelf or elevated rest? You most likely have to move the nocking point up.
Read this closely it has almost all the information that you'll need.

It has an adjustable bow fishing rest, so an elevated rest. I can move the nocking point up. How far would you suggest moving it up to start with?

Are you using this bow set-up for bowfishing or general shooting/hunting?

Try moving the nock up 1/6-1/8" at a time. Keep in mind a solid fiberglass arrow will not shoot as good as regular arrows. You can get it to shoot well though.
