I thought this would be an interesting thread.

Let's say you live in Florida, but your property is in Wisconsin, so you want a comfortable car.
You property roads are hard to get through with a car, so you want an offroad vehicle.
You bring a lot of gear with you, so you need a big trunk.

There's a lot of things you need in an Ultimate Hunting Car, I personally prefer Pick-Up Trucks what about you?
Tell or show what you think is the Ultimate Hunting Car/Truck.

I've hunted and road tripped while hunting out of a lot of vehicles. This setup works the best that I've seen.

It depends on what your goal is. Is your goal to be economical? I've seen a lot of people stuff a pile of gear in front wheel or all wheel drive car, suv, crossover that gets great MPG.

Personally I don't care much about that. My favorite vehicle is a big truck (4X4). Something with an extended cab, quad cab, king cab, etc.. and a 8' bed with a topper.

    Lol

How serious of a 4x4 do you need?
My husband's mitsubishi endeavor was an inexpensive suv but it got around 22 mpg, can haul a bunch of gear and still handle minor off-roading.

Something like a 4runner would be good.

A Florida to Wisconsin jaunt would have me looking at fuel economy as priority one.

I have a 98 4 Runner Limited. That gives me a comfortable ride, 4WD with locking diff, plenty of room for 4 people and gear in the back. There is enough room for all my gear and a couple deer in the back (yes i put the deer inside). It is also just big enough for me to sleep in the back. So for me, it is perfect. I can go just about anywhere i want, with what i want, and if i need to, I can sleep inside. As far as MPG it only gets about 19 highway. Not as good as cars or some newer SUVs but better than some trucks. Here's some pics:

I have to say a pickup is about as good as it gets, you do not want to haul a rudded up buck in an enclosed car or suv.

Fitz if you are going to go all out you have to look at the International, the last serious 4wd truck made stopped production in 1975.

1979 actually it was a strike that killed IH, love those trucks. Taught my daughter how to drive a stick shift in a 1968 Scout 266 8 cylinder.

I owned a 1980 scout. Square headlights and all.

I also had two 78s, a 77, and 79. Because they're like potato chips. Can't have just one.
