There is no doubt I have just gone thru the worst 3 days of my life. My Dad had a massive heart attack and bleeding on the brain on Tuesday. They flew him into Minneapolis right away and he had been hooked up too tubes and ventilators to keep him alive. Every specialist we talked to after the next set of tests kept coming back with more bad news. Yesterday they said he most likely would not regain consciousness and would most likely pass away. They said if he did survive he would be paralyzed on the left side and would never be normal again. His whole life he has told us he wouldn't want to live like that. Today we had them remove all of the tubes and he passed away shortly after that. I could never thank him enough for everything he taught me and I am so glad I was able to spend so many hunting trips with him. I have so many great memories but none better than when he shot this buck on opening morning and he called to tell me about it. I think I was as happy as he was and got right out of my stand to help get it out. We will miss you Dad.

Really sorry to hear that Tom. The hurt will turn to fond memories and smiles, but it takes time for sure. I lost my Dad 13 years ago this month and it still bothers me at times. But mostly, we tell stories and share the good times. Blessings to you and your family.

Truly sorry to hear Tom. I've been there... Lost my dad to cancer at the young age of 63. It will change you forever. You will most likely never get over it but it will get a little easier with lots of time. Focus on the good times, your family, and the things you shared a passion for.

    Prayers from Kansas

    Jason

I am so sorry for your loss, Tom. Prayers will be said for you and your family during this difficult time.

My dad also passed away at 63 from cancer... It will actually be 2 years this Monday. Like Jason stated... One of if not the hardest thing you will ever go through. Time is the only thing that will make things a bit easier.
