I am thinking about now getting the Canon XH-A1 Camcorder now. But I am wondering how you get the videos off the tapes onto my laptop and computer. Thanks for any feedback.

You have to have a FireWire card installed in your computer. Rewind the tape, hook up the FireWire cable, change the dial on the camcorder. Open your software and import. It will run the tape and import until it's done or you stop it.
