For anyone planning on putting in for a tag or a preference point for Iowa you only have 2 days left.
I was going to put for a point but I can't bring myself to spend $200.00 on points plus a license just to hunt whitetail. Lol Maybe I'll be less cheap next year.
Ouch!!!! Lol I'd be more then happy to help anyone on here hunt zone 5. I'd show good public spots and even allow them to sit some of my private spots. But you have been blacklisted! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I wouldn't ever hunt Iowa again if I could live and hunt what you have available right around you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Just out of curiosity, is it possible to get drawn with your first application for Iowa? I heard it generally takes 3 years?
It would be possible to be drawn without any points but highly unlikely. The only way that could happen is if the unit became under subscribed with applications that have attached points. That doesn't look likely in the near future. Most bow tags need three points or better draw right now.
I just heard all the deer in Iowa have migrated to all states east, west, north and south of Iowa. No deer here. Ha. Hope anyone who is hoping for a draw gets a chance. Never realized Iowa was so similar to Western hunting applications until a few years ago. Had an easy winter this year so it shouldn't hurt any big ones from growing bigger for this fall.
I bought a point and my son Justin had saved up money he earned from mowing grass and picking rocks to put in for a license.
