Anyone have one? What do you like and dislike? I'm thinking about getting one for my dad for his birthday.

    Yes, have 2.

Have good wifi and a stable network. If you like the old big 3 networks or espn you have some work to do to find those channels unless you have a provider (e.g. TWC) that had an app for roku.

If you have a bit of am open mind, it's fine and will quickly realize you aren't missing much.

Well, the only subscriptions that we have are Netflix and I have Amazon Prime, in your opinion, do you think it would still be worth getting? Do you get a bunch of channels that you otherwise wouldn't with TWC? Any hunting, fishing or outdoors channels because right now, we don't have any

You can get the TWC 'channel", amazon prime, netflix and a bunch more. Some channels are old shows/movies, other channels Internet connected content.

As for hunting channels Bowhunting.com, wired outdoors, hunt channel, pursuit, and others.

We use our Roku daily to utilize Netflix, and HBO go. We really like ours.

We have Roku 2 and use for BowhuntOrDie and also a few smaller companies that you probably haven't hear of... Netflix & Amazon Prime... ;)

Also hunting channels are growing like crazy the last few months. Check out CarbonTV, Pursuit and others....

Sling TV now allows you to get a lot of good cable channels for $20 bucks a month on roku.

Roku + Netflix = No More cable for this guy.

Love Roku because that is how I found Bowhunt or Die, my favorite hunting show of all time.

Do you have the Amazon Fire TV than with your prime membership? They pair up nicely and Amazon Fire I feel is only going to grow more and more with their buying power. We have Comcast currently but have downgraded to nearly just the local channel package....thinking Roku maybe the next step + cancelling all but our internet from Comcast.

I gotta look into this Sling TV, you aren't the only one saying good things about them.

It is a game changer. I don't even feel like I cut the cord anymore.

I have one and Sling also, it's perfect for us.

I even got HBO for Sling for 15 bucks a month so we can watch Game of Thrones. Which I will turn off after the season is over.

Here's the great thing about Sling, I can turn it off and on by month, so now that summer is here, Sling will be off. I will not go back to cable.

    I have a ROKU 3

Awesome. I haven't checked this thread since I went to sleep last night but just went ahead and got the Roku 2 earlier this afternoon and figured if I/we didn't like it, we could just return it. Thanks again, I will have to look into Sling TV
