I'm sure it has been asked before. I'm still trying to find things on this site.
Which is better? 1 or shooting with both eyes open.
I started back at this 6 months ago.
1 eye at first, but it seems that 2 eyes may be the winner in the long run.

What are the best guys doing?

Any opinions or advice is appreciated. Thx

I think that both eyes open gives a better field of view for hunting. But for target I like one eye open. However I prefer one eye open for all situations

Depending on how early it is... I might have both eyes shut. I miss every time :)
I have always done one eye open. Next time I go to the range I will give both eyes open a try and let you know how it goes.

Both eyes open, looking past the sight but fully focused on the target is how I shoot.

For me, it's easier to think/aim in three dimensions if both eyes are open.

Tried shooting both eyes open today. Flew the target at 50 yards and lost an arrow. Oh well, it was bound to happen some time. 1 eye open or 2 you still have to steady, aim, and fire.

I mainly shoot 1, it sounds like most people do as well. Just playing with both because it seems like 2 would be better.
Not sure what I'll settle in with yet but trying to keep options.
Thanks and give more feedback for us to read.

If you can shoot with both open it would be better. I shoot with one open but I am right handed but left eye dominate . Just easier for me one eye. I would have to practice a lot to be able to do both open . Seem awkward to do

I was taught growing up to keep both eyes open. Reason being having both eyes open allows you the field of view to track the target whether deer or clay pigeon or whatever until they are in the sights then shifting focus to the other eye and release. But I have buddies that shoot with one eye open and have no problems hitting their target. Try both styles and see which one works best for you.

Both. Just keep practicing with both open. It will take some time but you will be very happy with the results. Much better than one eye because that limits your vision so much

Both eyes for me. When I first started shooting a bow I just used one eye, and just practised shooting with both open and my accuracy improved right away.

Both eyes open, more comfortable and better field of view
