I got my tag results for this year. I'll be in a new area this year with my brother in law and a couple buddies. Start planning tomorrow. Here's to the third season being the charm!
Good luck on your season. I got drawn to bow hunt KS, man I can't wait. For just getting back into the bows, the KS news last week blew me away.
So Marshall and I worked on our hunting plan yesterday. The season goes from August 9 - September 10 and, with Marshall's schedule (and lack of vacation) limits the two of us hunting to the 14 - 17 and 22 - 25. We plan on staying out in the field during our trips because the spots are a couple hours away from the house and driving back and forth is unfeasible. We have a couple of other guys that have the same tag we do, but one of them works the same as Marshall, so I'm not sure if Nick will have the time off to finish the season. The area that we have had some pretty good bucks come out of there last year. We hit the maps and found a couple of spots to go check out. We also believe that splitting the season over the weekends will have benefits that we didn't have last year, mostly a chance to regroup and plan a new spot if we are having a difficult time in any of the spots we are hunting in.
