For several years now I have wanted to hunt in the neighboring state of Ohio. I really didn't want to do public ground and I was too cheap to go for a lease. Well today I was talking to one of the nurses at work who's family has a very large farm near Mansfield, OH. She was interested in having my wife, who is a photographer, do her son's senior pictures. Almost immediately the wheels began to turn in the deer hunting side of my brain. I offered my wife's services in exchange for permission on her farm. She said she would speak to her husband to make sure it was ok but she was all for it. She came back later to tell me it was fine and started showing me on Google earth her farm's boundries. Turns out they own property in part of three counties and have a very large operation and NO ONE ELSE hunts there! Needless to say I am super stoked about this opportunity and I can't wait to do the three hour drive to check the place out. Blessings........Pastorjim
Good for you!! Isnt it funny how the smallest of talk turns into something huge!! Congrats on the new land, best of luck hunting it. Cant wait to see your pics from the upcoming season. God Bless.
That's awesome congrats! I also hunt Ohio (NE) but a friend has a farm and got us permission on the neighboring farm so his 50 acres turned into 150 pretty quickly for us. Remember written permission is required and you need the slip with you at all times, even if the landowner is present. They do not take trespassing lightly.
Wow, that's great, I'm jealous but at the same time, excited for you. Now we need some pics off the homebrew to see what you have out there
Thats awesome , yea be sure to have written permission on you .. Be patient , Ohio holds some good one's ...
Offered wife's services for personal gain....bet you picked up a couple more items on the "honey do list" haha! Congrats man!
My thoughts exactly. But if your wife is all for it, then why not?! Sounds like a great opportunity you wouldn't have otherwise had.
