I am have trouble holding steady when i shoot so i am thinking of getting a longer stabilizer will this help or will it be a waste of money? Currently have an axion 4 inch on my bow and am looking at a bee stinger 8 inch pro hunter i believe is what it is called.

Do you have a pro shop close by where you can try different stab lengths?

I have a pro shop near by but they don't have any stabilizers to try. I was there this week and they only had short ones the same length as I got now.

Yes it will definitely help balance the bow. Anything under 8 inches really does nothing in terms of balance

A stab could help. However, your steadying problems could also be because your draw weight is too high or maybe you aren't transferring the holding weight to your back muscles and your arm muscles are trying to do all the holding.

Just a couple suggestions of stuff that you might want to check before you spend a bunch of money on a stabilizer.

A stabilizer absolutely will help any archer, not just a struggling one. That is, if you get the right stabilizer.

I'm a firm believer in B-Stinger products. Yes, they're kind of expensive but they work really well. There's a lot of science behind why it works. You can go to their website and read up on them. Also, if you want to PM me your email address, I'll send you an article Tim Gillingham sent me on hunting stabilization that's a really good read.

One question I'd ask also, are you having trouble with strength of your muscles?

Because stabilizers will ADD weight to bow.
    Good luck

Agreed. People always jump to making changes to their bow (a longer stabilizer will help of course) but often times guys are shooting too long of a draw length and that causes excessive pin float as well.

As well as too short of draw length can cause a "jittery" float

Any chance we can get some pics or video of you shooting from different angles? Also if you are indoors and draw your bow due you still float around? Like others said it could be form issues, too much weight or target panic. If you can mark your limb bolts and back off the poundage then see if the problem still exists. Pictures or video from different angles might help us spot form issues if that is it.

Longer stabilizers will balance more than shorter ones. Which is why you see pro archers shooting 3ft long stabilizers. Also, don't be afraid to look into getting a sidebar. I made that change last year and if helped me tremendously.
