DSLR + Lens suggestions

I am going to doing a lot more filming with DSLRs this year and have since started using my T3i lately. I have a good nifty 50, & (18-55 and a 75-300 kit lenses). I want to get another good lens and also was thinking of getting a DSLR that can capture 4k video.

any suggestions....

 

I use the same kit and to tell you the truth it does just fine with those two lenses. If you set your settings right and play around with it you can capture some really good looking stuff with it. Is your 75-300 a IS one? If not then that may be something to think about upgrading to. The non IS ones are pretty hard to keep from getting bouncy footage while zoomed in.

 

I love(ed) my 70D. It doesn't shoot 4K, but for self filming with a DSLR, it's hard to beat. If you're looking to stay in the Canon family so you can use your current lenses, that's the body I'd suggest.

 

I also have the 18-135mm STM lens which is a great all around lens for filming. The STM works great with the auto focus. No noise at all.

I am going to be using them since I have them and no one will buy them. But nope its not the IS which is something that I want to upgrade to.

Do you use camera arms and fluid heads for your dslrs?

 

I don't have much invested in glass right now. The only lens I bought was the nifty 50. I do want a 4k dslr for B roll and interviews and things because the look is just spectacular! I have been thinking the panasonic GH4.
Yes I have been looking into getting a 70D. Very nice upgrade from the T3i.

Yes I use a Muddy camera arm when I'm up in the tree and I use a good sturdy tripod while on the ground. The main thing is make sure you get a arm that will support the weight of the camera.
