Is anyone else fascinated by this? I in no way condone the actions taken...but I can't peel myself away from the news coverage...it's the wild west over there! I didn't things like this still happened.

If I went into a place and if there was a biker gang there I am not getting a table I would turn around and leave. I find it interesting that some say the owner of Twin Peaks could have done more to prevent it. How about the bikers not acting like feral punks.

I will admit I am fascinated with it too.
Yeah the first article almost made it seem like the owner of twin peaks (that specific franchise) invited them there.
Apparently it started in the restroom over a dispute about parking.

It happened in Waco, Texas. What else do you need to know?

Might want to read more about it. The establishment knew about this gathering in advance. The police informed them over a week before and the yet they still allowed it to take place.
If nothing else there is some blame there. If you invite the animals into the house dont be surprised when they **** on the floor.

From what I've gathered I'm not convinced the manager wasn't affiliated with one of the gangs.....or at least in their pocket

Seems that way. Looks like a good reason for the franchise to pull the their license.

In general Bikers are simple people wanting to look like tough guys. O owned a few bikes and rode to Daytona for bike week many times and never had an issue. With that said, the first I thought was "don't these people have better things to do" but obviously not. 9 people dead and over what?

We forgot what bike gangs are like, they kind of got lost and forgotten when the inner city gangs took over news coverage. This was a premeditated news event.

Which begs the question of why the police let it take place, or at least weren't present to at least show the bikers there were there and watching.

The police were on the scene from the very start. The fighting broke out in a bathroom and then carried out into the bar and then the street.

So this fight broke out because biker gangs want more public attention from both the media and the police?

I can't believe you guys haven't heard of Twin Peaks.. next you will tell me you frequent Hooter's.

I live in an area where it's not uncommon to see a "support your local Bandidos" sticker on cars that belong to people that clearly are not Bandidos. Hopefully they'll take notice of this event and realize they aren't supporting just some " club" of recreational riders.

This thing in Waco is one of the worst public mass shootouts in my lifetime, and no one has called them thugs, terrorists, and criminals. It's just taken like a "it's gonna happen" common occurrence. Weird! Maybe the police wanted to get them all together so they could arrest a lot of bad guys at one time. I don't know, but the truth will come out, hopefully.

I'll call them thugs and criminals. Trash is trash, no matter what the color of their skin. My view on this is that if bad people want to kill each other, let them have at it as long as no innocent people get hurt. Just means less bad people are left for us to have to deal with.

I liked your post Skywalker, but I don't think we in a supposedly civil society should let criminals to shoot it out in public. Just my $.02.
