Arrow/paper tuning question

how can I tell if my arrow is to weak, or if maybe its cam lean. Im Left handed so keep that in mind.
When paper tuning with my new drop away(i never paper tuned the stock whisker biscuit) I get a right tear that i can not get rid of. i thought i might have some cam lean. so i took my bow to bass pro shop. They said that it was close enough, and you cant get rid of all the cam lean. seems like bullsh*t to me, but im new to compound bows. so ill go with it. Im shooting Easton bloodline 330 @ 29.5" carbon to carbon threw a #70 bow at 29" draw. should that be stiff enough to get a straight shot in paper?

 

Did he check it at full draw or rest? If he checked it at rest he's bullsh*tting you. That means nothing. It needs to be checked at full draw and you can get all the lean out if it has yokes. Go to a real shop and check that first

Yes, the arrow you are shooting should be sufficient to get a good tear. I agree with max above, check cam through entire draw cycle.

 

Those guys at Bass Pro are not the best quality, go to a real archery shop

he only checked at rest. i thought that that was odd, because when he checked it with the arrow. he checked the cam at the bottom, but the idler wheel at the top it the one with the yoke. and if you check it with the top idler. its about 1/4" off on 29". and if you look at it at full draw. to me it looks off as all hell. I should just buy a press and do it my self. i hate having to rely on people you dont know to do **** for you. because most of them dont give a heck anyways.

 

I agree that some aren't but there are some good ones out there too.

Just curious, where do you live?

What bow are you shooting?

I live in crestline california(southern ca mountains), and I'm shooting a bear authority.

 

I've been able to get bullet holes out of pretty much all of the Attitude/authority bows. How big is the tear? To fix that tear, you would probably have to twist the right yoke assuming everything else is right. That would probably make your cam lean worse if I was guessing. You're left handed and most of the time the idler will lean towards the cable guard rod

the top of the idler is leaning away from the cable guard rod. the tear is about 1/2".

 

Get your string tracking off your idler straight at full draw and see what your hole does
