Help me out with some research. What are you paying for internet per month and what is your speed? Is your rate including the modem and/or router? Are you on a promotional rate or reg rate?

Charter is jacking me up to $59+ taxes for ~30mbps. . I’ve been able to talk them into giving me a better rate every year but they won’t do it for me this time even if I threated to dump them. Usually that is where they caved. I just chatted with Uverse and they are a little cheaper during the promotional but not that much. Plus its slower and they have a data limit.

    Just curious.

I have Time Warner Cable - I get the 30Mbps - I'll have to pull out my bill, but I believe it is $29.99 a month. (I have phone, extended cable, and internet for $105+tax)

I wish I had access to that fast of internet... We live too far out in the country to get something fast.

Think we pay about $29.99 through CenturyLink and think we get 1.5mbs...

$45.00 (with tax) a month for NeboNet. Speeds up to 8mbps down, 2 mbps up. (edited for correct speeds)

Modem/router not included but it does include the dish on the roof. :)

There's no cable out here. Not many choices, lol. At least the price isn't too bad.

I paid big bucks for spotty Internet from MediaCom back in central illinois.

My only choice was to go through Verizon home fusion. It's basically 4G wireless inside your house. What sucks is that it's a data plan, 10 gigs for $60 a month. The speed is actually really good, had to drop Netflix though.

No promotional rates, had to sign a two-year contract to get the equipment for free

I'm not sure to be honest, it's in my roommate's name. We have cable TV through them as well so maybe that lowers the cost of the internet. It's been that way for 2 years now though so I doubt it's still a promotional rate.

At the house before that we had the top speed cable by itself for $49/month. Seems the prices are all across the board from this post.

Wonder how much it will set me back up in Alaska?! lol

I recently signed up for internet (60 Mbps) and cable TV with Midco for around $110 per month for next two years. The price will Increase $40-$50 per month after the introductory period. This includes rental of a wireless modum and DVR receiver.

My roommates and I have ours through Comcast in a bundle. We have 50Mbps and over 200 channels with HBO and it about $110 per month all together.

Does 60 plus tax for 30 Mbps seem high to you guys? Ugh.

It's a conspiracy to charge the tight wads who dropped tv and use their Internet to stream tv, more.

I feel like this topic comes up every so often just to remind me how backwards our infrastructure is where I live. Most people a few miles from me can get any and all Comcast cable internet packages they want. Me? I pay $39.99 for 3mbs DSL. Verizon is the only other option and they're even more expensive and require a land line/phone plan.

I have 30mbps. The base price for that is $49.99, but I get a discount because I have a bundle that includes Internet, cable and Phone. I provided my own Modem, but they provide the rest of the equipment. I think the price for the bundle is just under $140.

I feel extremely lucky to have this. We live about 4 miles from the nearest town. That town has about 700 people and they do not even have access to this service. We used to only have the option of satellite internet, which as about $90 a month for 1.5mbps, which really was never even close to that. Hughes Net is the worst company on the planet.
