After finally getting my own place and the gf moved in and a few months of looking we finally settled on this beautiful little girl. She is a Plott hound and lab mix and 4 months old. First thing she did when we brought her home was grab one of my sheds of the counter and let me tell you I couldn't have been happier to see that. Once we get basic training down pretty good it'll be time to start training to follow a blood trail. Pretty obvious she already has quite the nose on her! As of right now its just about getting her comfortable in her new home. We choose the name Cabela and couldn't be happier. Sorry it's not exactly a bowhunting subject but I'm just to excited I had to share!
Are you going to train her to be a hunting dog? Dogs can be more difficult than babies because they can walk and grab stuff even when they're puppies.
Thanks guys and she will be trained to recover wounded game and when we got that down pretty good we will start the training to find sheds and see how that adventure goes but for right now its baby steps. Have worked on sit and stay this morning and for our first session I'm so impressed with her ability to learn so fast. Now we are going to take a break so she can nap and I will edit my gobbler hunt from friday!
It is a bowhunting subject bro. She is going to help you with your post bowhunt recoveries! That is AWESOME! Congrats!
I have a plott hound lab mix as well. Great dogs incredibly loyal. And he is a good pheasant and shed dog. Can't use him for bloody railing in nj though. Congrats on the new pup! here's my dog when he was a pup. He was pitch black when we got him but is now brindled on his sides and neck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Beautiful dog. Hopefully she can get some experience this fall when you put some point on the board for team 12!
Congrats on the beautiful little puppy! Guess you won't be needing to give me a ring to help you recover any this year now! LOL I'd still be more then happy to cruise over and help out though!
Ferg Ive been scouting so much public land down here its insane how many little 30 and 40 acre plots are hidden all over the country side. We got to get together at some point to film a hunt or two.
