So I'm looking to put a small food plot here in this small section of woods which is a really good spot to hunt on the property. It's kind of a staging area where the deer mill around before going to the fields. I'm looking for some advice on a food plot in here and seed that doesn't need much sun light because it is a generally thick canopy. Or should I just scrap the idea and put more effort into other plots.

    thin out some mature trees.
everything needs sunlight but some white clover, oats and rye seem to tolerate a bit of shade.
if you're gonna spend the time and $, do it right.
trust me, i've made every mistake in the book!!.

I'm going out there to take a look at it tonight while turkey hunting to judge if that will be the best option.
