Anyone going to try and find a way to watch this? Does anyone care? I admit I am not a boxing fan but would not mind watching it. I'm not going to pay $99 to do so however. Would consider throwing or attending a party with some friends and chipping in maybe $20. Might have to make some calls. Anything for predictions? Is this fight going to be a big deal or not?
My friend mentioned something about watching it at his house. I have no problem putting in $20 but I'd never watch a fight if I had to pay the full price. It's a big deal for boxing because they're barely hanging on. But, to me, this fight should've happened a long time ago - now both boxers are past their prime. I say Mayweather in a decision, even though I want Pacquiao to win. Mayweather's boxing style has saved him from getting hit a lot while Pacquiao has taken hits and got knocked out a few times. At their age, Floyd's strategy/defense will win the day.
Check out these prices. $4,500 for the cheapest ticket in the house. Between $80,000-$351,000 to sit ringside. http://www.stubhub.com/boxing-tickets/mayweather-vs-pacquiao-5-2-2015-9249063/
I can't wait to watch it... We will have it at our house in Birmingham... Probably split 5-10 ways. The fight, pizza, and beer still comes out less than half of what a halfway decent night out costs. I was going to head up for the Kentucky Derby, but this is my last month in Bama. I'm instead hitting up Talladega Saturday and heading back to Bham for the fight that night.
Haven't watched a PPV fight since the Tyson days, but I'm thinking hard about getting this one... $100 is stout though! May see if I can find a buddy or two to split it.
I am looking forward to watching it. i am going to an event at my local cigar shop. I am a huge cigar smoker, so it works out for me. $40 gets you in (limited to 80 people) a cigar, pizza, and soda. I think Mayweather will win and then announce his retirement.
Kudos for getting your smoke on during the fight Nebraska, that's real old school. Neither one will retire, there's still too much money on the table for both of them. "Money" is approaching $1B in prize money, and is also getting close to the real Rocky's record of 49 - 0, and Manny wants to fight in the Philippines at least one more time. Be that as it may, I'm hoping Manny knocks Mayweather thru the ropes.
May weather won't retire until he is 50-0... He has even alluded to this several times. I will say that if he beats Manny, he will line up near certain wins to round out his career and not risk a last second blemish.
Floyd wins by unanimous decision. Both boxers are on the decline and are not powerful enough to KO each other. Floyd is just in too good of shape to wear out. He will play it conservative until the end and wear down Pacquio.
Floyd will probably win since Manny looks like a mini version of himself compared to his PED days 5-6 years ago.
