So im already on my 3rd target this year. I burned threw a bag target. I made the mistake of wasting my money on a "big buck shooter" 3d target. had pass threws on that in a couple weeks, tried fixing it with a can of spray foam. Now im shooting at a Redhead layered foam target, but I dont think this one will last much longer. I would like to find a target that lasts at least 6 months. But iv finally gave up on bag targets, and want to find one that will hold up to some use. Any suggestions from daily or weekly shooters?
Rhinehart targets seem to get the best reviews. I finally bought one but I've only been shooting it a couple weeks. It also has a replaceable center insert. I've heard they last for years. A bit pricey though. http://t.basspro.com/Rinehart-Targe...rgets-or-Replacement-Insert/product/10206336/
Rinehart 18-1 or Rhinoblock. Both will last. Love both mine. You can get an 18-1 for $125 shipped on Ebay. Sent from my XT830C
18-1 has a 1 year warranty, if you can shoot through all 18 sides in 1 year they will replace it. I have one, have a hard time believing you could shoot through this thing in a year. http://www.rinehart3d.com/products/#i64
well lets see. so far this year iv spent $40 on a bag, $85 on a 3d, and $60 on a layered foam target(by next weekend will be shot out). that being said. the rinehart sound very cheap at this point. I cant wait to get mine!
Another vote for the 18-1 here. It holds up well and is easy to take with you. I have also had great luck with Rinehart's 3D deer targets.
I shoot both a compressed archery target I built and an 18-1. The 18-1 is an awesome target. I like the carpet target for long range (it's bigger in case I make a less than perfect shot) but you can't shoot broadheads into it. I tried once, once. LOL. I have been shooting that carpet target for 3 years and shoot several times a week and have yet to shoot through it. I just got the 18-1 last fall but it is holding up well too and it has had quite a few broadheads shot into it already.
got the glendale buck.... like I can turn the vitals and get for targets life outa one... use the block for broadheads... can't kill that one...
GOT MY 18-1 ON SATURDAY! man I have a good feeling about this one. I put a couple hundred arrows in it and it didnt even have a effect on the target. But im hell bent on killing this target before this one year warranty is up. :p
Third hand archery rag bag for field points. Filled with the wife's old clothes. Thing is holding up great. Arrows don't even poke threw the back. I. Shooting 70 lbs too..
You looking for a store bought target or make one yourself? I made one 3' × 3' x 16" deep. The top, sides and bottom are 3/4" plywood. Wrapped it in chicken wire then a junk lumber tarp from the hardware store as the outer skin and packed it full of pieces of plastic(also free from hardware store). Has lasted almost 2 years and still going strong only had to buy the chicken wire. Just need to put a new skin on every so often.
