My arrows are coming out at 8.1% FOC, they shoot fine now but everything I am reading leads me to believe that I need more weight up front, I have Gold tip pro hunters with 100grain tips, Is there any way to add weight without buying new broadheads? I can buy125 gr. target tips, but I want to add 25 grains to the 100 gr. broadheads I already have now. I am open to suggestions. Thanks, Stu
Gold Tip FACT weights....they screw into the back end of the inserts. Don't think they come in 5gr though but they do come in 10, 20, and 50gr. They can be stacked as well.
Do they fit standard inserts or do you need special inserts? The picture of the fact system on the God tips website doesn't make sense.
This is correct, they fit all the inserts gold tip has to offer....here is a pic of some arrows I was adding some 20gr FACT weights too 3 season ago. Standard Gold Tip insert with Hunter XT shafts
I've been using the fact system and found they loosen up and start to rattle. Even with loctite. I even had one come out and blow the nock out on release. I've just recently removed the inserts and weights and reinstalled them again. Really tight with loctite. One is already rattlin. I'd go with brass inserts from 3 rivers archery and be done with it. Or firenock just came out with some heavier inserts that will fit the hunter shaft. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Interesting, been using them for some time now with blue loctite and never once have had one loosen up on me....I also have the FACT wrench so can always tighten them from the nock end of the arrow. When switching between 100gr and 125gr heads I also add/subtract weights to keep the same total arrow weight and FOC and even when I do that it takes a good bit of effort to break them loose. Wonder why that happened to ya
YA know I don't have the wrench and I'm sure I would have better luck if I did. Another thing is I install the weights before I put the insert in, and I use easton hot melt. Wondering if the heat breaks the loctite down. I put a little glue on the weights this time and it seems to be doing better. But I think a wrench is in my sights. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
