Anyone keep one? I grew up always having birds. My dad had a thing for em, from red tail Hawks to macaws we had em all. Last night I ended up with my first. Yellow naped Amazon named Layla. I'm hooked. Amazing birds !

Had Cockatiels my whole childhood and loved them, very friendly and clean. Would love to own a African Grey one day.

We had a few African Greys growing up. Cool birds, the lady I got my bird from last night had several breeding pairs of Greys.... Sounds like my Dad may be getting one of the hand feds from the next hatch.

I'll try to get some video tonight.... She says Hi and Bye bye when you enter or leave a room, "what ya doin" "how ya doin" her name, etc. She really likes singing along to the radio also. Pretty funny Last night she kept getting mad when I would try to put her back on top of her cage. The first time she flew back to me in the other room. When I walked her back and placed her back on the cage she called me a f@#$er and started laughing... My wife about died

I had cockatiel's growing up. Her name was Sassy. She was exactly that. The things she said were great. Don't currently have one, don't think I have the room for a nice set up at my house.

But, your new bird is pretty! How old?

Have never had a bird, and can't say I've known anyone who has a bird.

First thing I think of when I hear pet bird...

I like my birds wrapped in bacon.

All kidding aside the most effective hunter where I hunt is hawks. They take what they want when ever they want it, after my kids are raised it would be fun to have one for a couple of years.

I would like to get into falconry one day, my cockatiels could only hunt for food in guest beards

We had a Cockatiel quite a few years ago. That bird loved my wife, my son and my daughter but the little demon hated me for some reason.

We ended up having to find it a new home when my wife took a bio-safety level III job in an Animal Research Facility. She's not even allowed to visit a zoo now, and as much fun as I think it would be to have a few chickens, I'm not allowed to.
