Installed new strings shot them till they settled. Then installed the peep. Then adjusted the height Haven't do any tuning yet and thought it was hitting pretty good Hutch
Hutch looks good brother. Got some nice groups to for minimal tuning. Now time to slap a big nasty broadhead on there!!
Nice-looking string set Hutch. pssssst.... there's an arrow 'wide right' in picture #3 - what's that all about?
H~n~S, your a natural born killer from 20 yards. I've got around 20yrds in my dungeon, but I've been expressly forbidden by my gf from launching arrows in or anywhere near the house since the unfortunate Victory VAP penetration demo in the garage. The problem lately is trying to get a group smaller than a foot from 60 yards in an open field with swirling winds. More likely I'm just a lousy shot.
60 yards takes practice! oh did I say practice or practice maybe practice. Yep at 60 its all form and practice. Once I practice up with my bow at 60yds I am hitting about 9" circle that means dead deer. (I hope) Hutch
How much does a set usually cost? After I get a bow I may think about replacing them right away depending on the cost of the bow.
60 yards is a long, long way.. especially in the woods. My biggest concern would be.. do you still have the kinetic energy behind the arrow to penetrate and make a clean kill? I have a 50 yard pin, but that is only for if I already hit the deer once and I have a chance for another shot. Doesn't happen often, but does happen. I just shot my bow for the first time in several months and I was dead on accurate still. I'm ready, but will continue to practice all spring/summer long.
I practice out at 60yds to make sure when I am @ 20yds I have no concerns. I too live in a heavy wooded area and my longest shot might be 35 to 40yds which is still to heavy in limbs and branches. So the longest I would shoot is 35 yards. So it helps to practice at long distances for that purpose. Hutch
Well just what I thought it was close to being in tune. 1. Yoke tuned it 2. Modified French tuned it 3. Paper tuned it 4. 20yard shooting Love it! BSD Strings are makin my bow Zing!!!!
