So went in to my hunting area to put new batteries in the cams for the spring and they are gone 2 out of the 3 coverts. I had just been in there a few weeks before and checked them. I'm pretty sure it was someone looking for sheds. It's an area that is only allowed hunting to me and a buddy but the public can walk through. But these were on deer runs and one was really tough to get into. It was in a swamp surrounded by thick thorns. I saw a boot track in there too. Just sux I can't stand being stolen from. I don't get why another hunter would take them. And I bet the scum bag that did it would be *****ing and moaning if it happened to him.

Sorry man. It sucks! I hate it too. I had 2 Coverts stolen last year and one destroyed. I started hanging them high now. It will make it harder for thieves to get to them. Do like a lot of guys do and setup a bad cam as a decoy and see if you can catch who took them.

Sorry bud, the same thing just happened to me.And it boggles my mind that a hunter would do that to another hunter. But sometimes people just suck. If you are looking, Amazon has a good price on MP8's if you want to replace them quickly.

That sucks, do most guys use lock boxes? My cousin and I have cameras on his property and he insists on using boxes. I laugh at him but I sleep good at night not worrying.

I use lock boxes with a Python lock and I would say it deters, but mine were still stolen. The only reason why I say it deters is that they were in the woods 8 months before they were take. I think all that stuff and being sneaky, like putting them up 15ft would probably work best. But nothing is perfect.

Yup I'll take a look on Amazon. I'm more pissed not seeing the pics I wanted to see what deer survived the winter. In Massachusetts we had one of the worst winters ever around here 109". I think I mite if got a top who did it only one guy I know that she'd hunts that area other than me. Karma is a ***** we shall see!!!!

Sorry you got burnt. I hate a thieving scumbag!! I have finally realized that some people (used loosely) simply don't have a conscience.

there is no fence made that can stop a mushroom hunter or turkey thief period. Therefor I pull all my stuff in during spring season.

I used lock boxes, cabled to the tree and used climbing sticks to get them up about 12 feet in the air. I got pics of people looking up but not takers. ALSO I got a bright red paint marker and in big thick letters wrote, very professional looking.....MN DNR. I think people hesitate more to steal or damage if they think it's state property versus private :)
That being said, it sucks you have to buy more cams......

I've thought of doing something like this also but I decided to just put my name and phone number instead. I think some people will think twice when they see a name on it instead of just seeing 'some camera' in the woods so to speak.

I have been fortunate enough to not have any cams stolen YET. I'm sure that day will come. Sorry to hear some one took yours.
