Listen I was taught a bow is a hunting weapon and to treat it the same as a gun. Second it is 2015 in this day and age with society the way it is you don't leave anything unsecured unless you are prepared to lose it. If my daughter left her bow setting out I would talk to her about it chew her a new one. Then again she was taught that a bow is a hunting weapon just like a gun and treat it as such.

Thankful I do not live in these shady places you speak of where anything not bolted down is fair game.

Why did you get a permanent ban on archerytalk?

For telling it like it is, evidently many can't handle that. I explained how I was taught to treat a bow seems like common sense. I would be a much better person if I would have joined the pity party. That and I ripped on a fat guy because he couldn't put the soda down.:p

A bow is not the same as a gun. Does a bow deserve respect? yes. Is it as dangerous as a gun? Not even close.

Well we are not arguing levels of dangerous, we were discussing how a hunting weapon is to be handled.

A bow and a gun do not need to be handled in the same manner. They don’t. Nobody does. Nobody needs to. It is a stupid argument.

Do you treat every bow as it is loaded? LOL

No but I don't leave $1500 worth of hunting equipment sitting in the back yard either.

So if I leave my bow and arrows in my yard some kids discover the bow and arrows and screw around and one ends up shooting the other or somehow somebody gets hurt, you are going to say how stupid it is that charges were pressed or you got sued?

    Sota,

I can go online and find thousands of occurances of kids playing with guns and then shooting someone else or themselves. Happens pretty much every day in this country. Go do a serch and see how many occurances you can find of a kid finding a bow and shooting someone with it. That should keep you out of trouble for awhile.

I am not going to waste any more time responding to this garbarge

Irrelevant. You could hit someone with a baseball bat too, so we should lock those up too?

Edit: sorry that was directed at Sota

It is stupid and garbage because I was taught to respect hunting weapons? Can't imagine a hunting instructor would say oh go ahead leave it laying around it's fine.

I would argue a baseball bat in a kids hands is more dangerous than a bow.

I don't think an instructor would make it a point to always lock your stuff up either, especially if you're not done using it.

Whats to stop someone from stealing a nice case with a bow in it?

Many suburbs around the Twin Cities ban use of weapons that send a projectile within city limits, that includes archery equipment. They do not ban baseball bats they even provide fields to use the bats. Comparing a hunting weapon to a baseball bat is not a logical argument, and if you can't wrap you mind around that you will not grasp how to properly handle a hunting weapon.
