I just bought a new spot Hogg whipper snapper on Facebook archery buy sell and trade and I am shooting about 2 inches lower than with my only release. Anyone have something like this happen to them or know what is happening or have suggestions? 3d event in 2 days should I just sight it in with the drop??

Take a few shots with the old release then the new to confirm you didn't bump the site, peep or rest.

Other thought is have a buddy take some profile pics while you're shooting the old and new to verify you have the same anchor.

Going from a wrist release to a thumb it's very hard to maintain the same anchor. Your hand is in a completely different position unless you're doing something weird with hand placement. Post a picture with both.

^^yep, I'd bet your anchor has changed. Very tough to keep an anchor point exactly the same when making that change.

Alright I'll get a picture posted when I'm able to shoot tomorrow. My buddy who I had look at it isn't the brightest bow dude in the world so he could just be saying that so he didn't have to stand out there any longer

^This EXACTLY! Not sure if you were shooting a wrist release previously, but this happened when I made the switch to a thumb/back tension release from my wrist style release also.

I switched from a wrist to a back tension. I heard some advice today at work listening to a bow rush podcast that gave some advice to make you thumb hit your shoulder after you release and that helped because I videoed myself and i was actually moving my had forward after I shot, which is weird because I never did that with my wrist release

Yea def post up the vid, not sure how your triggering the release with your hand moving forward after the shot...I use my anchors of a kisser in the side of my mouth, string on tip of my nose, and my second knuckle on my release hand snug up against my earlobe....i then "push/pull" until the release is triggered (hence back tension actually making the release go off) not just pushing the release with my thumb.

I think having a little different point of impact is normal, but that could just be me.

I have 2 releases, both Scott's, a Silverhorn and a Mini Goose and they shoot differently even though they are very similar.
