Should work for fishing right?

    My brother got this bow and he said he would never use it so I picked it up. It's a youth Barnett vortex. Draws up to 27" and 40lbs max. I don't see why I wouldn't be able to use this for fishing but just wanted to make sure. I draw like 28.5" and 60lbs for my hunting bow so not like the length is super short.     I didn't either just figured I'd ask before I went ahead and did it. First time bow fishing.

    You will need to set it up of course but other than that give it a shot.
    Rest, reel, and an arrow. Might as well ditch the sight

    They actually have one of these made for bow fishing. Everything is the same except its blue. It is actually what I use since I only have a 27 draw and 45lbs is plenty enough for big carp

    Havent been on the forum in a while after I posted this, Yeah I set it all up with the normal AMS pack with reel, two arrows and rest. Shoots fine for now from target practice but well see when I take it out this weekend.

    Will work good. You usually slap shoot on fish anyways
