It's getting close to grilling season plus I am trying to throw together a gift basket of spices, rubs and sauces for a friends birthday.

I am interested in seeing what everyones go too seasonings for different styles of meats.

I myself am a huge fan of Famous Daves stuff.
I use there Rib rub on Chicken and Pork. The Steak and Burger seasoning is also great. They also have an awesome BBQ sauce called Devils Spit that is just the right blend of taste and spice.

    Famous Dave's BBQ

    So whats everyone else like?

For steak we don't use any rubes just a salt pepper
for chicken we normally use a vinaigrette dressing and let it marinate overnight

Boring...haha but I will take my steak like that long before I put any Montreal Steak Seasoning on it. I will never understand the fascination people have for that stuff. Then again we all have different tastebuds.
I have never tried the vinigarette chicken before but will keep it in mind, thanks!

steak = salt + pepper and nothing else

chicken can be anything, but I make my own dried herb and pepper mix that goes well with chicken

Steak is salt and pepper, sometimes grilled with an onion slice on top. Chicken is marinated in Stubbs Chicken Marinade. When it comes to ribs, GrillMates Memphis BBQ rub and topped off with Stubbs Sticky Sweet bbq sauce or Stubbs Honey Pecan bbq sauce.

Chicken we use a lot of different things. For steaks I spray them with olive oil, sea salt, ground pepper and sometimes I sprinkle them with a greek seasoning.

I use Tony Chachere's more spice on Chicken& Seafood. And the Montreal Steak seasoning trick I picked up on a hunt in Colorado I used to be a purest and only used salt and pepper.... after I ate em that way I was a convert, its my damn pie hole and I'll stuff it with what I like :p

Those are our normal. If we are marinating we use Chiavetta's Barbeque Marinade.
