hello everyone! id like to know your opinion on Baiting laws in Wi, but not only that. What if I want to put mineral out for my heard out of season not to bait? See that is what i dissagree on! They say you cant bait out of season. But i dont consider this baiting? what are your thoughts? Thankyou!
Baiting and feeding are both regulated in WI. Out of season you would be feeding. In WI feeding, where legal, must be done within 50 yards of owner-occupied residence, not more than 2 gallons. Black in white in the regs., page 27.
What they gotta come up with is a medicine that cures cwd and have hunters put it out with your bait...that will probably be the best way to cure cwd that's if they even have a cure! Sent from my SM-G900R4 using Tapatalk
Most of time I feel people do more harm than good. Concentrate on good habitat instead and the deer will be fine. If I had my way baiting would be banned year round statewide.
Do what you want. Sounds like you are going to anyways..Law clearly states no baiting until 24 hours before season opener. End of story. Part of being a sportsman/hunter is to have ethics and follow the rules weather you agree on them or not.
Depends also what the WI DNR considers bait. Here in Minnesota mineral is not considered baiting, there are also no restrictions on feeding. You can't hunt for 10 days after feed has been removed.
Ummm WLM i never said i was going to i clearly stated i hear guys doing it? now i dont think that means i am. Part of what i am doing is getting an opinion. of course i want to follow the rules and be a sportsman, i would never disobey the law, always have always will.
"Bait is any material that is placed or used to attract wild animals, including scent material, salt, minerals, grains, etc. Not including water." From the reg book.
So if you have an archery tag you can bait a gun hunting stand before the gun season starts, but if you did the same thing with only a gun tag it is illegal?
You can start baiting 24 hr before deer season, regardless of which license you have. So if you only gun hunt you CAN bait it starting the day before archery season. I don't think it requires actually having a license, but unsure.
