Just ordered the new (2015) Moultrie 990i Gen-2. It is Moultrie's flagship model for 2015. Anyone using these or any of Moultrie's new Gen-2 lineup?

Great! If you get a chance I'd like to see a night video.

Third party shipping wouldn't allow Amazon Prime, so I should be getting it 19th thru 23rd? I will post pics when I get it and then it will go directly to the field. KyBob I am not a fan of videos. I think they are cool, but I don't like the time it takes to manage all of that data. I will post a lot of examples of night pictures and I hope that helps some.

It came sooner than expected. It is by far the best built Moultrie I have ever owned. The new clip to open is very big and you could probably open with gloves if you need to. Lots of improved functions. You can use a quick start function or custom start. I don't remember seeing a 3 shot trigger and 3 shot burst and set on 3 shot trigger to see the difference. Out of the factory it comes set at 4mp and changed to 10mp to see the quality difference if any when compared to my M-880c. This is my first Moultrie with a screen to review pics in the field or use the aim function to line up the camera and it seems to be an asset. I have always liked Moultrie's night time photos, but they added a feature new on this camera to reduce blurred pictures. I will be setting this camera in the field on Saturday and checking six cams for turkey season mid april and will post the results.

The Motion Freeze technology is not new they have had it on there cameras for a few years. Let us know what you think of the camera. I have a 1100i from last year and it was terrible, detection range was not very good and would miss animals very close.

In independent testing on past Moultrie cams the Motion Freeze reduced flash range. I saw that with mine so I no longer use Motion Freeze since it also did not reduce blur.

It will be interesting to see if this has improved. Looking forward to your pics. Try it with both motion freeze on and off to compare.

I noticed this last night myself. I am not sure what the factory setting is, but will change it after the first pull unless I am happy with the results.

Looks pretty good to me. What settings were you running?

Looks like temp feature was off on a few? Or did it actually hit 97?

Yes very happy with overall quality.
Not sure on the temp. Looks like 9 to 15 deg off today. Will be doing some research on that and will let you know.

Mine are off if they are in direct sunlight.

Looks like they are improved over the 2014's but there's still some issue with blur/out of focus on the edges in the distance. Other cameras don't have that problem, I don't know why they picked up that problem after the 2013 models and can't seem to fix it. Most of the time it doesn't hurt anything but it bugs the crap out of me anyway.

Thanks Covey I was wondering about that, it is in the wide open pretty much. Yeah I notice the edges are not as crisp as they could be, I wonder if that has to do with focusing or how close objects are to the camera, lens maybe? It is not a Reconyx, but I am happy with overall picture quality, programing and the quality of the unit. Hopefully battery life will mimic the M-880c.
