Going to make it up to 60 today for the first time today since last October. What a fine feeling of relief, saw my first hoof print in mud this morning rather than snow. I unplugged the stock tank heater and turned off all electric heat back up. I may have to schedule an off campus meeting this afternoon.

I wouldn't get too far ahead. I think there's still plenty of winter tricks left in mother natures bag.

A couple models are showing another chance of snow for the Ohio Valley near St. Pat's day.

I wouldn't rule out anow.in April this Spring. The ongoing pattern supports it.

Hoping not, but not going to lie to myself either.

The system I was talking about

Oh I cannot wait! We have so much snow and slush. It's supposed to be in the 40's all week (which is a heat wave compared to record cold winter so far). Soon we will see nice weather (After our St Patty snow storm). I have a horse who looks like he should be popping a baby any day. I haven't been able to shoot my bow since bow season - and even that ended with snow. There is hope, and I'm ready to see grass!

I'm getting excited myself. I can't wait to get to work on my property and get the cabin opened up for spring. The interior is nearly finished and will be more comfortable next deer season.

It was 60 degrees here yesterday - outstanding day indeed! I just hope all this snow melts - S L O W L Y - to avoid too much flooding... we have a ton of it around here compared to years past.

The el nino effect has kept us dry most of the winter, we opened up with 14-1/2" but we had about 4" on the ground before it started to melt. I predict I will hear peepers before the weekend. Spring fire season looks like it could be fun.

    Foolish person!

    You are tempting the gods.

We have had some of our heaviest snowfalls the third week of March.

I am not so foolish as you. I leave my snow blower out and ready until April 15th.

I leave my snow shovel on the porch until May 15th.

I leave the snow brush in the car pretty much year round. May take it out mid summer - but it goes right back in. Never know with mother nature.

I am like Lt Dan during the hurricane tempting fate. Couple things I left the heater in the stock tank I just unplugged it in the barn. The shovel is still sitting by the back door. I am also going to be in warm places for the next 3 out of 4 weeks so odds are I will miss any snow fall events.

Well 4 or 5 years ago we got 40 inches of snow in April. Way to tempt Mother Nature with that comment. :)

    Same here.

It's in the 40's this week and it feels great. Just in time for me to get out a shed hunt and scout for deer/turkey season. Hopefully get out and shoot the bow too.

While the snow is melting fast, I still was in mid thigh high snow today. And we have 30" of ice on the lake.

10 day forecast looks nice though :tu:

63 degrees at my place most of the snow has melted and there is 8" of water on top of the ice on the pond, plot is still 1/2 covered with snow. I can not find my sawyers spray, little worried about the ticks being out.

Last night before bed when I went out to get firewood I had the porch light on and there were moths fluttering around. I am headed to the firebase for the first staffing of the year this morning. Sure feels like winter is over at least for us in central Minnesota.
