Hey everyone, I'm a complete and total noob when it comes to bows. Went out with a group from church to a local archery facility (Cinnamon Creek Ranch) and just loved it. Haven't hunted in years, but for some reason the thought of bow hunting just hit me right... maybe I just didn't have an expensive enough hobby. LOL... Anyway, I went to Cabela's and got set up with what seems like a decent starter bow (Diamond) and all the other stuff to get set up. Been shooting 3d targets on my land practicing. Like I said, I have no clue what I'm doing. I'm looking forward to learning from everyone's experience. Not new to forum life, pretty active on some Mustang forums... I can't promise I won't ask stupid questions, but I can promise to use the "search" tool. My two set ups: Practice practice practice!!!
Welcome to the site and the Wonderful World of Bowhunting! Shoot from an elevated position as often as you can. Get you a rangefinder if you haven't already ready. And Practice, Practice, Practice!
Definitely need to get a range finder. I'll be heading back to Cabela's next week to get my bow restrung, and I'll grab one then. As soon as it dries up, I'll start shooting from a step ladder or off of my balcony to get the elevated position shots. I'm really enjoying this a lot and looking forward to the upcoming season.
Welcome to the site! Sam was right about the elevated shooting, I practiced on flat land last summer and when I got in the tree I was in a bit of trouble lol. Nice Stang too!
Welcome! "I can't promise I won't ask stupid questions" - Not to worry here! Remember, "A wise man can learn more from a foolish question than a foolish man can learn from a wise questions".
