I guess in some twisted way its to prevent pimps from ruling the world, look at the votes free health care and Obama phones garnered.

I run into them all the time...never charged one. They bring a lot of problems our way in terms of harder drugs, robberies, and all kinds of issues.

That being said, if people want to sell their bodies and are not being forced into the sex business, I really don't care what they do. Heck, society overwhelmingly believes women have a right to kill their unborn fetuses, so I have no idea why prostitution is such a big deal.

What politician is going to introduce the bill to make it legal. That is political suicide.

if it was legalized and was out in the open, do you think it would be less shady and that these types of issues would be less?

    I would think so

Without a doubt. However we will still have to battle underage prostitutes and sex slaves. I am dead serious, we have kids being trafficked as sex slaves right below our nations capital.

I'm very much a traditionalist when it comes to "morals." But making prostitution illegal has always puzzled me.

If a man meets a woman at a bar and they go somewhere and have sex, it's pretty much okay. But if he gives her money, it's a crime. I'm not sure that makes sense.

I'm aware that sex trafficking is a big deal, but I would think that if prostitution was legalized that this would decline as well.

Obviously you would never 100% get rid of it, but it would decline.

Always has puzzled me too. There are a lot of "Closed Door" prostitutes. Look at the pro sports arena. You hear all the time of guys paying for a woman's condo, house, jewelry, clothes, cars, etc. They give them money in return for sex but it is not considered prostitution. Go Figure!

No, I've lived in 2 countries where prostitution was legal or at least very out in the open and those problems where still just as high. Along with a more organized crime type force driving it, at least in one of the places for sure.

Not sure the American public couldn't handle seeing this out in the open anyway, I mean people get offended if you say Merry Christmas and throw a big fit.

There seems to be several that think it should be legal. If it were, would you use the "service".

It does not promote women's health & tends to put women in high risk situations.

Anyone that pays for sex is an idiot.

    Use common sense.

I will not argue prostitution with a hooker.

There is a group of people making money of illegal prostitution today, who thinks they are going to give up that empire?

When we make it legal there will still be an underground prostitution ring.

I am for making it legal, but it won't solve diddle.

Idk probably not, would be Russia and France. Pretty sure they just kinda look the other way if anything. Either way your still gonna have different levels, there would be say brothels that will be regulated and probably looked at more harshly but there's still gonna be a street level. They don't stop that now from happening so I don't imagine they'll be successful goin after them for unfair work peactices or drug testing.

I'm not on one side or the other honestly, why not legalize it. No matter what you always pay for any sex you have in one way ha.
