    I joined and entered once they allowed lit nocks, and scored a Sitka vest at Cabelas this week.

    I bought the book by Sexton Young, there was a quote that said A man should never shoot a doe, and only a starving man should shoot a fawn.

    It's just unfortunate that P&Y contributes to the fight against crossbows. Isn't that still archery, too?

    Coop there was a day when I would have got out of the recliner and pulled the book off the shelf and gone to the dog eared page found the highlighted passage and made sure the spelling was right and the quote was exact. This winter is weighing on me.

    Not according to Pope and Young, and if you take the time to go to the website and read their definitions and terms it is logically explaines why crossbows are not archery equipment that they are willing to admit into their record books. It is all about drawing the bow on the animal.

    I have some original ASAT Sitka from the first run...think mid 90's, they have gone with me on hunts NA... Still works fine

    My vest is a couple days old, I like it is lite compact and warm. I heard that Sitka was a quality product and it is. The only reason I purchased the vest was the reviews but most importantly it was on clearance in the Cabela's bargin cave. I got it for $80 and I had a $25 gift card. I would never pay full price.

    I don't care that they won't allow a deer taken with a crossbow into the books. I won't take the time to enter one anyway. It just pizzes me off that they support anti-crossbow legislation. I try not to do business with companies that support them or anti-xbow legislation. Just my opinion. Probably doesn't mean squat to most bow hunters what I think, but it's something to consider.

    I bought one last summer. Didn't have an opportunity to shoot anything with it this season. My Dad and brother both hunt only with crossbows. I just don't see the disdain people have for them. They don't give nearly the advantages over a vertical bow that most people argue the give.

    On the other side of the coin I live in a state that allows cross bows for the elderly and handicapped I support the current law and I support P & Y for preserving the tradition.

    And if you want to go with tradition, they should only allow recurve or longbow entries.
