Well I'm just about to mail out my deposit for my Illinois DIY outfitter!! It's the only bill/invoice I smile at!! Ill be hunting my property in RI, from sept 15th, till some time in december. I'm also wanting to return my my old stomping ground on public land in CT, in hopes of getting a mature buck down. some of you might remember my thread with topo maps and strategies, asking for advice. And for the third year I'm returning to McDonough County Illinois, to a DIY outfitter. The first year i had high hopes and passed on two high 130 class bucks at under 20 yards, and last year botched the shot on another 130's class buck. So where is everyone going?
This season is up in the air ,if we don't move going to lease the farm we had this year here in GA.. If we do move and buy a farm I will getting it ready for season...In whatever state that might be... but no trips this year..
I will be heading to the western part of the U.P. for my second year bear hunting. I am also hoping to visit Colorado this year so I can pre scout some areas for Elk in 2016.
I like to stick to my small property because I don't have to pay for a license or tags. I am going to try a few new things this offseason, including moving my stand to a really nice spot, and I think I will have a much better shot next year. I would like to start travelling to hunt but I enjoy the camaraderie and I don't have anyone as dedicated who can take much time off for a hunt.
going hog hunting in Texas (leave next week)... come August will be Bear hunting while scouting Deer and Elk in western Wa., then Sept. will be hunting said Deer and Elk with my brother who's coming out from Illinois
I am going to add bear to my hunts this year, I will be in Wisconsin for gun season probably won't buy a tag, just there for the fun at camp.
I'll be hunting my 40 acres and a couple public land places in my neck of the woods for whitetail. In addition, I'm planning a solo DIY Antelope hunt in Wyoming. Depending on the unit, I may try and grab a deer tag as well.
Behind my families house. 80 acres. Plan on hunting some more public land spots in the area. Going to Ohio to scout at the end of the month so hopefully find a good public spot to try in November. DIY Montana Elk in September.
Just Illinois deer this year. Hoping to make good on an elk hunt in '16, either Colorado or Montana. It damn near killed me cancelling last year.
I'm going somewhere, with some people, to hunt some animals. I just don't know where, when, with who and what.
I'll be hunting in IL for sure, and there is a good chance I'll be in Wisconsin at some point as well.
South Bama for spring turkey, then maybe back to Ohio for a week in Nov. other than that I'll be hunting around the house.
I will be hunting whitetails and bear in MN, whitetails in WI and most likely late season bow hunt in Kansas for whitetails. But I will definitely spend more days sitting next to one of my kids watching then hunting myself.
I am planning to elk and moose in the last week of September in Alberta. However, my wife thinks we need another child, so that may not happen if a due date falls during that time.
That could happen! lol My wife is still upset that I didn't kill a bear in Canada. I think she wanted me to kill one worse than I did! No idea why, but I hope its because she has big plans for the rug.
