I was hoping these 2 contests would do well but they did not even come close to being as good as the regular contest
Our state team participated quite a bit. But your right the secondary contests didn't do as well as I'd hoped overall.
Yup....Maryland only guys that really stayed active and entered bucks...doubt we do it next year....let me rephrase that, doubt I do this next year.
Did anyone win the gun contest? I didn't get into the regional contest but I did waste team space in the gun contest. I tried... really! My buck jumped or fell off the mountain or something.
I had a lot more activity on the MD thread than on the main contest. I had a good time with the state contest!
The failure of the state contest was easily predictable..........just a flawed idea. The gun contest is a tough one because it's usually a wham-bam situation for people and it's realistically over (opportunity wise) quite fast. This doesn't support long drawn out conversation on what you have seen and done over weeks/months. Not many gun kills at all though which is shocking.
I didn't take a buck this year so nothing to post in a buck only contest. Our team thread was fairly active. I basically stopped gun hunting when I got back into bowhunting so didn't even enter the gun contest. I think it was generally understood that all the other comps would be far less of a 'thing' than the main one. Thanks to everyone involved and those that went to the trouble of putting them all together.
