I just can't fathom why any state would be against using lighted nocks. There's no drawback whatsoever.
Actually, I was wondering if there's supposed to be some kind of an advantage to using them since they're unlawful in some states? I can't imagine what it would be.
I think it's some of the traditionalist that don't like them. The only advantages to them are good advantage, the ones everyone should be promoting. Lighted nocks give you a much better indication as to where your entry point was. Also, they help in locating the arrow. Both of these are a great help when decided the appropriate length of time you should wait before taking up the blood trail. The only possible benefits to this is less deer being bumped off their beds and lost.
Now if they could just convince Idaho Fish and Game! I have no idea why they still don't allow it. I use them when I go for hogs in Texas and the only advantage is after the shot as you've stated above.
