I figured I would start a log to update whenever I find any. So far I have one shed and one deadhead, both from lunch break walks. Still a couple months before they really start dropping here in VA.

Went out today at lunch and jumped a buck right after stepping into the woods. I swear I only saw one side on his head but I looked everywhere and didn't find anything and it seems early for a small buck to have dropped around here but I'll check back in a few weeks.

Roanoke, and the areas I look are beside highways so most are probably hit by cars but I have found some nice ones in the middle of the National Forest that were either shot and not found or I guess they could have been coyotes or something else killing them

Got out at lunch today and saw 2 little bucks. Both only had 1 side but wasn't able to track down the ones they had already dropped. Didn't get to cover the whole area so I will give it a while and head back. I did find one dead buck that the squirrels had chewed the antlers off of.

Found number 3 on my lunch break today. Heavy 4 pt side from either last year or the year before. I had given up and was walking back to the truck and just happened to spot it but still thought it was part of a limb until I saw the base.

Found number 4 today. A hanger/stander 3 pt that had been chewed almost all the way through. Pretty neat find seeing it standing like that. Also found a deadhead missing one side.

Nice! When you go out how long are your typical shed hunts?

I get about an hour lunch break give or take so I usually walk for about 35-45 mins depending on how long it takes me to get to and from the spot.

You need some fresh bone! Looks like you are getting all the old ones picked up.

Yeah these are all old...they haven't dropped around here yet so I've been walking new grounds and so far all have produced so hopefully they are still using the areas

Found number 5 today...another old one but still a nice one to save from the squirrels. Found it under a huge Chestnut tree but couldn't find the other side anywhere

Checked my camera yesterday and it looks like at least one buck had shed. Also got a nice young 8 point that I'm hoping drops his close by.

Found the first fresh one of the year. Some guys from work told me they saw a buck missing one side so I took an early lunch and headed out. Found it within 30 mins so he must have just lost it when they saw him. It was leaning on a fallen branch when I found it which was pretty cool.

Got out after work yesterday for a few hours and decided to try a little spot where I found one last year. I also found the dead buck that I was pretty sure shed the antler last year but left it laying as it was freshly dead so this year I went and got the skull first thing. After picking it up I walked about ten yards and laying in a thicket that was too thick and green last year to see, I found the missing side. I then hit another spot where I found an old spike and a fresh 3 point side. Not too bad for a couple hours.

Buck skull wish both sides shed

Found number 10 today. Missed it earlier this year when I hit this spot for the first time. Both antlers that I pulled out of here are really thick all the way up the antler, just wish I would have found them last year so I could have saved the squirrel damage
