Just curious as to how many take a winter vacation, and where everyone goes. Heading to Sint Maarten next month.
We usually head south around Spring Break time. South to Minneapolis that is Honestly, I don't like leaving very often in the winter. It's so peaceful and quiet around here. ... plus I don't want my pipes to freeze
My wife and I usually do. a few days up in the mountains in VT, either skiing or just relaxing in the mountains by the fire with no kid, no dogs no phones.....but plenty of drinks!!
the wife and I use all of ours during deer... sometimes go to our condo in Sarasota on Siesta key, but don't really like the beach...
Every winter. We have gone to the Dominican, San Juan, many of the BV and Caribbean islands and Mexico. This year is Cancun for a repeat trip and next year is Costa Rica for the first time. Sint Maarten is a great place. I have been there several times and would go back anytime. Enjoy!
Usually head anywhere below the Mason Dixon line for a lazy vacaytion, but this year trying to line up a Florida hog hunt and a gator hunting in early March... fingers crossed that the stars align.
since I live in the south, we usually head to the mountains for skiing last couple of times it has been Winter Park, CO
Don't go on trips that often but I did go to Kauai, Hawaii about 7 years ago... Hope to go back someday as it was an amazing trip. Went to Florida about 4 years ago and that was alright. Heading to Las Vegas in April this year - If anyone has any suggestions on what to do/see, let me know!
Only "vacations" I take in the winter is ice fishing trips a few hours away most weekends. Better than leaving anyways!
I do some rabbit & squirrel hunting on the weekends and sometimes check trail cams to relax and have some fun. Some of you guys are high class.
Two weeks from now I'll be on a ship in the Caribbean drinking and eating myself into a coma. Somewhere in there I'll squeeze in a quick visit to both Haiti and Jamaica. Can't wait to get out of this frozen hole for a few days.
I go down to Florida to visit the parents in Florida 3-4 times in the winter. March my wife and I are going to Beaches resort Turks and caicos. By far my favorite place to go you are left alone completely. I will never to Negril again. Can't stand the constant beach salesman, I tried to be polite and say no thank you that didn't work so good so I would get whiskeyed up every afternoon and tell them to get the f away from me.
We have been going there since 2000, we've missed two years during this time. It is a beautiful Island. We have met some great friends there over the years. Can't wait to get back. We are going for three weeks this year. I hope my Liver is up to it. LOL! Definitely gonna be nice to get out of this frozen tundra for awhile.
My life is a vacation... I suppose this July when I get my stuff out of storage and stop living out of a duffle bag I'll consider things like this.
Next month I'm flying into Chicago and then I'll be driving down to St Louis and then back to Utah. Because nothing says 'vacation' like visiting Chicago and St Louis in the winter. LOL I'm going to Chicago to visit family (my mom is sick ), pick up a truck and going to St Louis to pick up Mueller who is coming out here to kill rabbits, coyotes and look for a house. Maybe I'll stop by the BH.com office heh
Worst thing about my job (lack of time off during the cold months). I head to these warm places during the summer (nuts, huh? :D). We're looking at Aruba possibly for this year's trip. Sint Maarten, we've never been to, but you can't go wrong with many places in the Caribbean at least where we've been to so far. Enjoy!
