I'm a new videographer and am working on footage for my first hunting video. Never filmed a hunt before but I have plans for filming coming up in about a week and a half to do some self filming and film another guys hunt. I'm curious and looking for ideas on how you pros and novice guys are getting your setups in the woods and up in the stands. I just received my Muddy Pro Arm and Manfrotto head so I'm looking for other options other than the badlands super day pack. I'm gonna go to the park today and practice and take some film and footage on my gear so I'll post that up here later on. Thanks guys Mike
LowPro Flipside 400 AW. I have tried a lot of packs, some that were intended for us as hunters, and I come back to the LowPro pack every time. Everything that I need for a tree stand hunt fits in there.
There's really no good way to do it. I'm a self filmer, so obviously I'm carrying everything in with me. I have a backpack that separates into a back pack and a fanny pack. I have modified the fanny pack with foam to protect the camera. I carry all my video equipment in it. the Sony PXW-X70 with the shotgun mic attached, but turned backwards. I have a spot for 2 extra batteries cut out of the foam. In the side pockets, I have my wireless mic in one and my GoPro in the other. There's a front pocket that I carry extra batteries for the wireless mic and also some misc necessities. In the back pack, I carry all my hunting gear in the front two pockets, then in the large main pocket I carry the base for my tree arm. The tree arm slides down in a vertical pocket on the side of the backpack. I carry my bow with a Primos sling. I have also don't this combination while carrying my Lonewolf stand on my back and the back pack and fanny pack turned around to the front.
I just have a safari quiver that carries my canon vixia and go pro, with my tree arm strapped to the side. Im just a little guy compared to you folks. Beefie
That is a very efficient looking pack setup. This is exactly what I'm trying to accomplish. I need to slim down my hunting gear in my pack now.
I'm going to try this with my badlands super day back pack and buy another fanny pack. Thanks for that idea.
I have a similar set up and a super day pack, it works but not the greatest. This season the bowhunt or Die guys showed how they get their gear in and out of the field. I thought it was an informational show.
