Alright everyone! I just wrapped up my first semester at UW-Oshkosh for Radio, Television, and Film and now i have until the beginning of February off. My question for everyone is that, does anyone know of any public property around the Chippewa Falls, Eau Claire area?? I'm looking to fill my doe tag before season ends!
There is quite a bit in the chippewa county forest. It's around new auburn area, 15 minutes north of chippewa falls. Otherwise, there is a bunch east of eau claire. I'll try to find you some maps. If you go to the dnr site, and search "mfl open land" and it will take you to a fantastic map that shows mfl land, county land, and state land.
I stopped by a warden office a few years back and he pointed to an 80 acre piece of land INSIDE A RESERVATION that was open to public hunting. Saw 2 deer that open morning but spooked one nice buck and didn't feel comfortable at a 200 yard shot. There are nice parcels recently opened that you need to find. Good luck
