My bow accidentally got dry fired yesterday and everything looks fine but do I need to get it checked out or anything???? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yes you should have it checked over. Most times they are ok but you could have a bad limb, bent cam, bent axle, etc.
Thanks guys !! I'll let you no what the out come is ! Just got my first mathews creed and let a buddy check it out and he accidentally dry fired it ! Made me sick but accidents happen I guess ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It happened last night and missed 2 deer this morning and took it home and it was shooting high but prolly wasn't the reason but goin take it in Monday ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
No way in hell would I have shot that bow without getting it checked first. You are lucky you are ok and something serious didn't happen to you. I wouldn't fire it again till it's checked Sent from my iPhone 5S using Tapatalk
I agree with jfergus7. You need to get it checked out immediately and absolutely before shooting it again. No deer is worth the risk of it exploding on you and causing injury.
You seriously should not be shooting a bow after a dry fire without giving a good inspection. Drag a cotton ball down the limbs to check for splinters, check the axles and cams, check the string VERY good for any damage...lots of stuff can happen with a dry fire.
Rule #1, never draw your bow without an arrow attached and rule #2, don't let your buddy draw your bow unless he's shooting it.
My boat, my bow, and my wife... no one else messes with. Your bow is probably fine but yes, get it looked at.
