Just curious what the guys in the Northeast are seeing as far as the rut is going? Things seem to be really slow where I am! Hopefully it picks up soon!!

A TON of rutting activity in the northeast part of the state. Rubs and scrapes everywhere. deer are responsive to calls and scents and there is a lot of chasing.

I am in lower NY and haven't seen that much. A couple rubs and scrapes. My buddies have seen a decent amount of chasing going on, but they get to spend more time in the woods than i do. I work at a body shop, and I can tell you that deer hits have increased since last week.

Very slow. A few scrapes and rubs here and there. I've witnessed zero chasing or any rutting behavior. Been another boring year in north central PA. I'm starting to think the rut is an old folktale.

I hear ya!! Last year was this way for me too !! Very slow and I killed a buck first week in December that was chasing a doe last year. I saw more rut activity in December than I did in November last year.

Last year was horrid for me too. Last year all season I saw ZERO chasing or dogging type behavior. This year is the same. Taking tomorrow off and hoping I get a little action.

I'm more mid-Atlantic, but I was starting to see more daytime movement a few days before I shot my buck last week (on the 3rd). I've since saw two different NICE bucks in a bean field 1/2 mile from my house on my way to work. One was Tuesday last week, and another this morning. They were both with a doe.

From a few friends still in the woods, they're seeing decent, but not above normal seeking/chasing.

I'm definitely more Mid-Atlantic but I think the bigger ones are already locked down. It's slow and just saw a couple smaller ones roaming around.

In NJ, got a nice 6 pointer last weekend but haven't seen much chasing. That being said, they are very receptive to grunting right now. Called mine in twice before I was able to get a quality shot.

Still think we have time for more action to heat up.

Historically, I seem to do best on November 13. We'll see. I think the big boys get unlocked and roam around again looking for the next hot doe.

Haven't seen any chasing or anything like that. We usually don't though. We hunt private land that is surrounded by high pressured state land. We really haven't had many bucks showing up either on camera or while in the stand. We have had a group of 6 doe hitting the picked corn field for the last week and have not seen an antler with them. I had a new rub and scrape show up right near one of my mocks a little over a week ago, but other than that there isn't much to speak of. I'm in upstate NY, hunting in Rodman.

I hunt in NE Ohio and watched two bucks chase a doe for 10 minutes last Saturday. I never got a shot opportunity though.

I have 2 stand locations with 10 different bucks between them all at night except one. Hard to believe they are all locked down with a doe. I would think a couple would be cruising.

Def a lot of chasing going on here in the Hudson Valley. I'm in southern Ulster county and haven't seen many new rubs on my property but like I said the chasing is really going as evident by all of the hits on the road.

I should have added that I also shot a young 8 point on the 24 of October at 12:55.

I'm hoping that the rut, plus cold weather will have the big boys out an about this weekend.

I hunted last night and saw two small bucks up and on the move! One was chasing a doe and the other was working scrapes!! Maybe things are starting to pick up!
