One of my buddies shot a nice buck about and hour west of me. He took it to a locker who let's people drop off deer after hours in their cooler. Well he went back in today and his deer is gone. Plenty of does in there he said, so it wasn't stolen for the meat. I'm so pissed for him.
Wow thats terrible. I wouldnt leave a buck like that out of my sight unless it was the taxidermist. See stories like this often.
I wouldn't have either. I just don't know why someone would want a rack from a deer they didn't shoot. Makes no sense to me.
Holly cow brother im sorry to hear that. Hope they find who did it!! My best friend had a similar issue a little over a year ago. Shot his best bow buck (at the time), a 130" 8pt and shot a good 120" also in Ohio. Had the skulls in the shed cleaning them off, and at some point someone broke in and took them, along with a bunch of hunting stuff. Its heart breaking, they obviously meant a ton to him. I still look on craigslist monthly hoping someone trys to sell them, because pretty sure it wasn't a hunter who stole them, lives in the city and was probably a broke crack head looking for stuff to sell. Makes me sick to hear stories like yours man.
Also I'd be printing that picture out and taking it to all of the surrounding taxidermists along with his contact information.
Yes do this! And like I said keep an eye on places like craigslist. People sell antlers on there a lot at least out here, so its work keeping an eye on there. Hopefully the loser slips up. Since this guy got it fresh, I bet it turns up at a tax somewhere, either to get beetles or mount.
My buddy is contacting several taxidermists. Many people are also sharing his picture on Facebook to try and get it out there.
Jeeze, that sucks. SOunds like the situation was a recipe for disaster to start with though. Good example why you need to keep on guard all the time with "special" property guys..be careful out there...lots of sick SOB's in this world. Hope it turns out ok.
The same kind of dumb azzes that will stop on a busy interstate to cut the rack off of a buck. The same dumb azzes that buy racks off the internet. Bragging. Look what I got. People are idiots.
Just playing devils advocate, but... We're there other similar sized bucks in there? If so, there is a possibility someone mistake his buck for theirs. If not then that really sucks and I hope they find him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
