NAP thunderheads are the way to go. With three different variations you should find what you are looking for. Sent from my IPhone 5S.
I myself don't shoot the fixed blades. I shoot 2 blade rage broad heads even know they make me really nervous I'll use them until they fail me because of the success I've had. But I've heard a lot of good things from a lot of people about the slick trick broad heads and will probably switch to those if needed
Whichever one you like and put through two lungs or a heart. Most broadheads are great...personal preference more than anything. The only ones I have heard repeated negative remarks about were NAP killzones. Heard great things about rage, muzzy, toxic, schwackers, Magnus...etc. I personally shoot rage hypodermics.
smoked a doe last year with the simple Muzzy 100g broadheads, nothing special, nothing fancy. Boy did that thing tear her up, it blew a damn hole in her!
Honestly if your using a fixed blade, your on top of the game as is IMO. A lot of things can go wrong in bowhunting, as long as you shoot your broadhead and know your on with the broadhead, not just the field point, then you should be perfect. As long as you do your job, the broadhead will do it's job too- there's not many BAD broadheads out there honestly. The deer I lost in my life were my fault, not the broadhead- I think it's time someone made a broadhead soley for shoulder shots, though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yes. I use killzones and they work, but I wouldn't recommend them. I've shot 3 deer with them so far, and have yet to have a great blood trail. I know we're not supposed to blame the broadhead, but I'm 0 for 3 here. recovered all the deer, but only 1 deer was recovered the night of the shot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I shot a doe Saturday night with a Slick Trick 100 grains. It ran 40 yards and piled up. Easy blood trail from the spot of the shot to the deer. The shot went through the front shoulder and had a whole that looked a slug shot from a shot gun.
