My dad and I set up in a field on some property behind our house and he set up his climber about 20 yards down the field. He kept sending me pictures of all of the spikes and does that were under him and I hadn't seen anything. Then out of nowhere I see a buck come over the top of the hilll. I saw that it was big sized and I just wanted to shoot my first buck so it came closer and closer until it was 5 yards away between two trees quar tering away. I just let go and saw that it was a really good shot. I was shaking so badly and just sat in my stand for about 20 minutes and started to calm down. I got out of my stand and looked over to my dad and saw 5 does under his tree. I was soooooo excited so I yelled his name as quietly as I good and heard his climber coming down. We have learned even with a good shot you shood let a deer sit so we went home and ate dinner and grabbed my brother and dog. We went to where I shot it and found a ton of blood. We followed the blood trail and found my light up arrow nock/arrow covered in lung blood. We kept tracking and following the blood and the blood got less and less and less. We could't find any more and I found a tiny little drop about 5 yards away and looked up and there he was! My first buck. I was so happy and we took pictures and I already knew how to gut from my double doe so I finished that and we dragged it out into the field and brought it to a nearby bar to tag it. That is my story!
Awesome story man! Sometimes it's crazy how you don't see anything and someone else sees a lot then you get a shot out of no where! Keep it up! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Congratulations. I'm sure this is the first of many more. I wonder who's smiling more, you or your dad?
