I use that stand. Works great for me. For the price I got mine, it was well worth the money. I got mine on sale for about $170 I think. If you're on a tight budget, this is definitely a good option

$170 is a tight budget? DANG. These hang-on stands that are like $350 are a joke. I want a Summit Viper but I can't justify $279 for it.

I've never used either but for some reason that post made me lol. They all lie through their teeth re stand weight.
I did just pull the trigger on a LW hand climber today. After last weekend's episode of Misadventures in API Outdoors, I have used that tank for the last time.

The LW should be at my door tomorrow!

arrived today; be putting it to work on Friday-Sunday. Does pack really nicely. Only issue I see out of the box is the platform has fairly sharp edges and I see them maybe wearing holes in my camo clothes real quick.

Yeah when i got mine it was sharp also and thought the same thing, but i haven't had a problem with it so far.
Also i don't collapse my hand climber all the way down. I find it easier to carry it like this. IMG_3662.jpg

Mines not overly sharp but I know what you mean...no problems here with it and I am on my 3rd season with mine. Get the backpack straps and keep it tight to your back...literally feels like the stand weighs 10 pounds when I have it on tight against my body and fully collapsed. Good choice and good luck with it!!!

I have two api, grand slam bow hunter and the full size, love them both.the gsb for 18 years. I also have a lone wolf that I just bought and hate it. The bottom portion is ok but the top is awful to sit on and climb with. They should have done a better job on a foot strap system also.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8dPvscfXMcw - watch how that guy climbs up the tree. it will help out.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yV1hjWksfAg - watch how this guy puts his hands on the top to climb up. easier to put the inside like he did for me.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ptZnujX05K8 - this is how i get into the tree stand by using the top like that. Also i got how i carry my stand from him, already set up and not flat.
