According to my hunting journal, I've put in 43 treestand hours so far this season. Patience has to pay off at some point, right?

Do any of you keep track of hours hunted?

i have a rough estimate i keep in my head. I think up til the 13th of October (when i killed my buck...and motivation slowed haha) i have logged over 100 hours on stand. I kno it sounds like a lot, but im usually on stand by 6am and hunt til a minimum of 10am. The week I killed my doe (October 8th) until i killed my buck i sat from 6am-3pm every day for 6 days straight.

Time in the stand pays off for sure! The area i killed my 2 deer in was hot, so i kept my butt in the stand til it paid off haha. Since the 13th ive probably only been out twice for a total of 11hours. But doe season is out down here, and i dont have any other target bucks to chase, so no need to be on stand and put pressure on an area until its needed.

19hrs and 45mins. By far the fewest hours since college. I punched my doe tag, and I'm hunting less, but seeing far more deer (52 total...of course many sightings/shot opps are the same deer on a few nights).. I think in years past I felt that I needed to be out everyday, but in reality, when working with such a small property, it's doing more harm than good. Cameras and weather will tell me when to sit now. The property really won't get hot until about a week or so. We simply don't hold the big boys until they come after the large doe group residing here.

I've got 22.5 hours in stand. Shot my first buck clumbus day morning. And a doe early that week.

About 18 hours on 3 sits. No deer seen while on stand.

One of my slowest starts yet, but not overly concerned at the moment. May not make it back out until Halloween day, will find out later today.

I should be somewhere around 25 hours right now which is by far the lowest for this point of the season in a long time. Hoping to add few to that total this weekend.

13-14 hours. I live so far from where I hunt that it's hard to get out as much as I'd like. When my son get's older we'll spend more time up there (hopefully) but for now, I give myself one long weekend per month during hunting season.

50 or so. I don't smoke my good spots, but I have a nice amount of random spots to hunt and I enjoy being out.

Also doesn't hurt that I have a great mother in law.

Been in stand 6 sits for about 20 hours and seen 20 or so deer. Well many of them were the same doe/fawn/yearling/spikes as the prior sit. :ninja: Been bouncing between 2 stands.
