According to Google Maps I was roughly 250 yds to the South in another stand when the photo was snapped. I have a stand 18 yards from this spot. Gotta love deer hunting. :tu:

Imagine if you were running one of those cellular cameras that sends pictures in real time. I'm pretty sure I would puke if I got a picture of a giant while I was sitting in one of my other stands.

He's a bruiser! I would keep tabs on his pattern and eventually you will be in the right stand at the right time. Good luck!!

We've got his core areas pretty well locked down, they're just tough to hunt! I wanted to go to the stand in the photo on opening day but we had a SE wind which is blowing directly up the trail he's walking towards where he beds. Of course we assume he's bedding up there and want a NW or SW wind in our favor to catch him coming down at night which is why I opted to go elsewhere. Trouble is he's doing the exact opposite of what he "should" be doing - walking up in the bedding area in the afternoon with the wind at his back.

Just goes to show you when it comes to predicting deer behavior it's FAR from an exact science.

I had the exact same thing happen last year with 2 bucks chasing 3 does. It's like they read the playbook and know your every move.

That's okay, I did too. If you can't have fun out there then it's not worth doing.

For good measure here's a pic of him that same morning before daylight a couple hundred yards away.
